In Stihl’s range of chainsaws for semi-professional use, the MS271 is a mid-range option. With a modern design the MS271 features Stihl’s 2-stroke engine with 2-MIX technology which cuts fuel consumption by up to 20% and emissions by up to 50% when compared with Stihl’s conventional 2-stroke petrol engines.

The 50.2cc engine generates 2.6kW / 3.5hp so the Stihl MS271 makes light work of felling small trees, landscape maintenance and cutting firewood, making this an ideal chainsaw for farmers, landscapers and craftsmen.

The MS271 features Stihl’s long-life air filter system to ensure maximum life from the air filter. Professional anti-vibration technology helps to minimise vibration ensuring operator comfort.

When it is time for a spot of maintenance, Stihl’s one piece removable engine cover makes access to the engine quick and easy. Adding chain oil and fuel is simple thanks to Stihl’s quick release tank caps. The semi-transparent fuel tank allows you to easily check the fuel level without opening the tank.

Chain tensioning is achieved on the Stihl MS271 by loosening two nuts (combination tool provided) and using the side chain tensioner which keeps your hands away from the chain whilst turning the adjuster.

The Stihl MS271 is available with a 16” (40cm) or 18” (45cm) guide bar. Please note, cutting length will always be a little shorter than the bar length because of the way guide bars are measured. The difference between the guide bar length and cutting length varies by chainsaw model.
