Although the Stihl MS251 is part of Stihl’s ‘occasional use’ range of chainsaws, it borders on the semi-commercial range and is very popular with demanding homeowners and occasional commercial users such as farmers and landscape contractors.

Ideal for cutting firewood, felling small trees and other grounds maintenance work, the Stihl MS251 has a modern design and uses an economical Stihl 2-MIX engine. The 45.6cc engine generates 2.2kW / 3.0hp which gives excellent performance.

The MS251's engine is fitted with a compensator to ensure that the engine keeps running at peak performance even when the air filter starts to get dirty. The MS251 also features Stihl’s long-life air filter system to ensure maximum life from the air filter.

Adding chain oil and fuel is very quick and easy with Stihl’s quick release tank caps.

Chain tensioning is achieved on the Stihl MS251 by loosening just a single nut (combination tool provided) and using the side chain tensioner which keeps your hands away from the chain whilst turning the adjuster.

The Stihl MS251 chainsaw has an excellent reputation for performance and reliability and is trusted by many users.

The Stihl MS251 is available with a 14” (35cm), 16” (40cm) or 18” (45cm) guide bar. Please note, cutting length will always be a little shorter than the bar length because of the way guide bars are measured. The difference between the guide bar length and cutting length varies by chainsaw model.
